In 1990s Los Angeles Zoja’s Czech mother is a high-end madam, marrying off young Eastern European girls to wealthy American men. Twenty-five years later, Zoja receives a letter from a lawyer claiming to have an incriminating dossier on her mother who fled her Communist homeland.
