Bio
Julie Schulte is a Los Angeles based writer. She has just completed her first novel.
Her non-fiction work has appeared in The Atlantic, Artillery Magazine, and elsewhere in print and online.
​
She is an alumna of the Community of Writers Summer Workshop and has held a residency at Vermont Studio Center. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from UC Irvine where she was the Fiction Editor for the Pushcart-Prize winning literary journal Faultline. She earned her BA in English and Slavic Studies from UC Berkeley.
She has lived and worked in Eastern Europe and China. She is a lecturer at UC Irvine and teaches writing courses on themes interrogating motherhood and is a mother herself.
